Its software is used in the training of thousands of soldiers and senior officers each year, and for supporting decision making into the composition, structure and tactics of the armed services for the next 30+ years.
Working at the forefront of innovation, our clients expects a lot from its graduate trainees - be it the competence and creativity to code complex computer models or the enterprise to exploit existing technologies. These attributes should also be complemented by strong communication skills and a promising educational pedigree, typically a 2:1 degree or higher in a numerate subject from a leading university. While we set the bar high, the graduate training scheme is evidence of its commitment to embrace and expand the bright ideas and minds of those who come to work for us.
As part of the permanent contract offered to successful candidates, the two-year initiative will expose you to a wide range of projects and the different roles that combine to deliver our world-class solutions. You will benefit from formal training courses, internal peer seminars and self-study time, backed up with books, online courses and attendance at industry events.
You'll work with your dedicated line manager to shape your career in the direction that interests you - learning new programming languages, supporting the software at customer sites (UK or overseas), project management or technical leadership. We're a small company, so there's the chance to take on a variety of roles and gain experience across our business.
There is the opportunity and encouragement to study for professional qualifications in software engineering or project management; more experienced engineers are helped and encouraged to achieve Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer accreditation.
The company provides its engineers with the support and equipment they need for success - powerful workstations, two (or more!) high-resolution monitors, professional software tools such as Visual Studio Enterprise or Creative Cloud subscriptions. We adopt modern practices such as Agile development and automated testing. We continuously improve our processes, and welcome ideas from anyone, right from day one.
During our annual innovation day, you will be given the opportunity to make use of company time and resources to explore everything from how emerging technologies could be incorporated into existing products to means of streamlining business practices.
