Yorkshire and the Humber Healthcare
Athona Recruitment require a Band 8 Clinical Psychologist to provide a high quality clinical psychology service within the highly specialised field of Forensic and Rehabilitation Service for Women. Supporting psychology colleagues within the Locked Rehabilitation Service for Men will be an occasional requirement covering annual leave etc. To work continuously and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the Hospital based in Yorkshire. Collaboratively, with other members of the MDT, you will effectively contribute to the provision and continued development of an effective patient therapy programme.


Main Responsibilities:


Clinical

???The provision and implementation of highly developed specialist psychological assessments of women patients, based on appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a range of sources.

???The formulation of plans for psychological treatment or management of patients problems based on appropriate frameworks using methods based on evidence of efficiency.

???To work individually and collaboratively with other members of the MDT in ensuring an appropriate range of interventions in accordance with the care plan and with the support of the referral agent. The ability to provide DBT and CBT for Psychosis would be very desirable.

???To provide support, advice and guidance to other care team members on psychological aspects relating to the patients ongoing care and the assessment of patient risk.

???To effectively communicate orally and in writing, sensitively, information relating to the assessment and treatment of patients in your care.

???To provide expert knowledge on the psychological care of women patients in forensic care to appropriate third parties outside of the organisation.

???To make highly skilled evaluations and decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the patient.

???To undertake appropriate validated assessments as and when required i.e. HCR-20, WAIS-IV, IPDE, PCL-R, SARA, RSVP.

Teaching, training and supervision


???To provide specialist advice and training for other members of the care team in order to enhance their psychological skills.

???To provide specialist advice, consultation and effective clinical supervision to professional colleagues.

???To contribute to the continued development of a high quality responsive service.

???To initiate and implement service developments and projects within the service.

???To support the delivery of an effective flexible Group Therapy Programme.

Management, Recruitment, Policy and Service Development


???To advise and participate in recruitment and selection of appropriate psychology posts within the group.

???To fully commit to and maintain the highest standards of professional practice and continuously seek to improve your practice through ongoing personal development.

???To undertake regular professional supervision.

???To maintain high standards of record keeping in accordance with BPS Codes of Practice and in accordance with company policy and procedure.

???To consult with other psychology personnel across the business to ensure articulation of best practice across the business.

???To maintain up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, local policies and procedures in relation to the patient group.

???To provide effective professional supervision to junior staff for whom you are responsible, to be an excellent role model and develop them to acquire appropriate professional competence and skills.

Research & Service Evaluation


???The effective utilisation of theory, evidence based literature and practice in your work either individually or in collaboration with other team members.

???To ensure the evidence based reviews and research inform the practice of psychologists in Alpha Hospitals, Sheffield.

???To undertake and support other in research as appropriate including clinical studies.

???To implement complex clinical and service evaluation where appropriate with the aim of improving the service and quality of care.

???To take the psychology lead to implementing systems for the monitoring and evaluation of the psychology service through audit.
